Studying
The Department of Linguistics Graz puts special emphasis on the subject areas phonetics/phonology, grammatical theory and typology, language description, sociolinguistics and clinical linguistics. Structure courses on languages that are not commonly taught in schools are offered regularly (most recently Arabic, especially Moroccan Arabic, Basque, Bikol, Huastec, Nahuatl, Pame, Sanskrit, Tibetan, Yucatec Mayan etc.).
Currently, the Institute of Linguistics is offering a bachelor’s programme and a master’s programme for linguistics.
