What you should know about the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs

Are you interested in language? Then the Bachelor's degree course in Linguistics is the right choice for you.

Degree

Announce your graduation (= completion of all coursework with the exception of the Bachelor's thesis and Bachelor's examination) 3 to 4 weeks before the known examination date by e-mail to gewi.anerkennung(at)uni-graz.at in the Dean's Office.

The following requirements must be met for graduation:

  • all achievements in the curriculum must be assigned to the degree programme in Curriculum Support and appear as positively completed (if you cannot assign achievements yourself, please contact the responsible administrator)

  • A list of the free electives must be sent by email to gewi.anerkennung(at)uni-graz.at

Instructions for the assignment of credits in Curriculum Support

Bachelor's thesis

At the start of the Bachelor's thesis , please complete this form (have the course instructor sign it!) and hand it in at the secretary's office.

From 1 March 2022, Bachelor's theses must be submitted exclusively in electronic form (PDF/A format) to the supervisor via UNIGRAZonline and will be subject to a plagiarism check.

Bachelor's examination (written) (only for curriculum 2018W)

Please make an appointment at the secretary's office. Please note: Appointments can only be made via the secretary's office!

Please hand in this (completed) form to the secretary's office at least three weeks before your Bachelor's examination.

Dates for Bachelor's examinations in WS 2025/26

  • 06.10.2025 - 8:30 a.m.
  • 05.11.2025 - 8:30 a.m.
  • 26.01.2026 - 8:30 a.m.

Dates for Bachelor's examinations in SS 2026

  • 04.03.2026 - 08:30 a.m.
  • 04.05.2026 - 08:30 a.m.
  • 22.06.2026 - 08:30 a.m.

Master's examination

Contact your two examiners early enough to arrange a date for the Master's examination. Please note that at least one of your two examiners must be habilitated. Afterwards, please hand in this (completed) registration form to the secretary's office. The secretariat will take care of finding a chairperson.

Please note: The registration form must be submitted at least three weeks before the planned Master's examination date!
